Good day champion, wherever you may be when you are reading this.

Many people ask what it takes to be successful in a business such as the greeting card business that I run, and so I thought it might be helpful to share my journey with you on a weekly basis! This is not my first week in the business, but the first week I am starting this.

There is no secret to success. It’s rolling up your sleeves each day, and each week and taking small, but meaningful steps forward.

This past week, our CEO issued a challenge to have 20 people watch our product/customer video, and then also watch our business opportunity video. I took the challenge and contacted 23 people to view it.

My results – 3 new team partners and 1 new customer. The team partners saw how easy this process is and said YES, I can do this, too! The customer is planning to become a distributor in the next two weeks but wanted to get started sending cards, learning the system and getting contacts into her contact manager!

My question for you is this – do you believe you could be successful in a greeting card and gift business by following my mentoring and our simple system for success? Would you be willing to work with me to develop a script for calling people that fit you and made you feel comfortable? Would you then be willing to make a list of 60 people and call them over the next few weeks, using the simple script we develop and your system?

Want to hear some real life stories about the success people are having with our greeting card and gift business?

We recently launched a new customer program, and it’s a monthly subscription for $9.80 a month. Here are some early numbers -

In the first 48 hours, 973 people signed up for a $9.80/mo subscription. On the 3rd day alone, 860 people signed up for it. Our recruiting for the week was up 40% from the week prior. AND, probably 80% of our rep base is learning about it and haven’t gone into action yet. Normally it takes 90 days to ramp up a new program so the best is yet to come!

I AM LEARNING THAT THE BEST WAY TO GET NEW DISTRIBUTORS IS TO SHOW SOMEONE HOW EASY IT IS TO GET CUSTOMERS . . . THEY SAY ‘I can do this! I can make money at this!’

One of the questions I am often asked is – what do I need to do to be successful and make money! Let me show you how to do this with our new customer program! You’ll be amazed!

Anyone can benefit from using our personalized greeting cards in their business and Real Estate Agents are just one profession that is high on the list. I’ll cover others in upcoming blog posts.

If you are thinking about joining the business, here are some ways to target Real Estate Professionals in your area.

1.       Target specific neighborhoods within a community and do a postcard campaign.

2.      Follow up with past clients and keep your name and face in their memory.

3.      Send thank you notes (and gifts!) to customers and associates. This is appreciation marketing at its best.

4.      Send out Holiday cards to both your personal and professional mailing list. There are many holidays each year, so don’t limit yourself to just Christmas. Thanksgiving is a great time!

5.      Send out birthday cards, anniversary cards, sympathy cards, graduation cards, congratulations cards to customers & associates. You’ll get an email reminder and this is great for family and friends, too!

6.      Keep an eye out for  news worthy events and send congratulations cards out for job promotions, marriages, birth announcements, etc. People love feeling special!

7.      Send thank you notes to fellow real estate agents that have shown your listings, especially to those that have taken the time to give you feedback.

8.      Create “Just Listed” announcements.

9.      Create and send out “Just Sold” announcements.

10.  Send out a card to homeowners that are threatened with foreclosure (watch the newspaper) and let them know that there may be alternatives to foreclosure and to call you to review the circumstances and their options.

11.  Send out open house invitations out to prospective buyers (keep your guest lists from all open houses and invite those guests to a future open house that is in their price range).

12.  Send thank you cards to everyone that attended your open house—include your photo and a photo of the home.

13.  Send out target mailings to renters.

14.  Send out target mailings to For Sale By Owners.

15.  Promote the First Time Home Buyer program to renters and college grads by using postcards with a few details.

16.  Invite real estate agents to your open house luncheons (co-sponsor a the luncheon with a lender or title company and give them a little promotion on your invitation postcards.)

17.  Use cards to stay in touch with professionals that may be in a position to send referrals (attorney, accountant, etc.)

18.  Send “nice to have met you” cards to people you meet at networking functions and chamber meetings.

19.  Send out thank you cards to appraisers, lenders, home inspectors, pest control companies, etc.  just to let them know you appreciate them (bet they haven’t received a thank you card lately!)

20.  Send a thank you/follow up card after every listing appointment.

21.  Send out “thanks for the referral” cards.

The art of cards and thank you notes is what makes Appreciation Marketing work so well. This is what builds Strong Relationships. This in turn creates Repeat business and referrals because they know, like and trust you!

**And you can also offer your cards as a service to customers.  As a housewarming gift, set them up their own gift account with points and postage.  Allow them to send change of address announcements and maybe even open house invitations to show off their new home!  You’ll be a hero for making it so convenient for them!

Now, can you see how easy it is to build a business sending cards and gifts and teaching others to do the same?
