Why People Don’t Buy or Join Your Business

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

Jackie Ulmer, Freedom Business CoachWe’ve all been there, when working a home business. We might do the perfect presentation, but for some reason, the person we show it to doesn’t join us or buy from us.

What did we miss?

What did we leave out?

What did we do wrong?

What can we learn from this?

What do we need to know?

And, we wonder why; why don’t they join us?

I know why…do you?

Let me ask you a question….

Do you know what the key is to making sales and getting people to join you in business?

It’s to be FULLY aware of what you are “selling” and make sure OTHERS are also aware.

You’ve probably heard this before, but people DON’T buy a drill, because they want a drill….

They want a HOLE in the wall, or something a drill PROVIDES.

Right?

So, if you are selling a “Business Opportunity” it’s important to remember that people don’t really want a BUSINESS Opp, right?

What do they want? What do YOU want?

They want (and YOU want):

Time freedom

Financial Security

The ability to TRULY control your time

The ability to donate and give freely

The ability to travel, eat well, shop well, and enjoy the finer things in life

No boss

No time clock

No alarm clock

Imagine this – you wake up, when your BODY tells you it’s time to get up, not your alarm clock.

You grab some coffee and head to the deck of the 5 star resort you are staying in.

The waves are slapping onto the beach, beckoning you to come dip your toes in.

The temperature is a balmy 80 degrees.

There is a slight knock at the door, and the massage therapist steps in and sets up for your “in room” massage to start your day.

Then, breakfast is delivered right to your room.

And, you are calm, relaxed, enjoying all of this with the person of your dreams… your family…or whoever you choose.

And, you enjoy your stay with no thought or regard to what it costs.

You deserve it, you are worth it and you have certainly earned it….

What’s your vision for success?

What’s your plan to get there?

What if I showed you a simple solution that worked for me….

Here’s the solution.

“See you on the inside!”

Oh, and here’s a quick video I shot at a recent company VIP event.

It happened for me, it can happen for YOU, too!

The Danger in Comparing Yourself to Others

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

Don’t Compare Yourself to Others in
Your Network Marketing Business

Dom't compare yourself to othersCompete only with yourself and measure each success you experience against others.

A big mistake we often make in our network marketing business is – We look at others in the company, often who have been in longer than we have and we begin to compare ourselves to these other people, in many cases, comparing ourselves to others without even sort of knowing if it’s apples to apples or apples to oranges.

Comparison is always a dangerous thing, and especially in your Network Marketing business. Most of the time, things are not quite what they seem.

We see fast starters seemingly shoot to the top of companies; we see people rewarded with bonuses greater than ours; we see names grace the top sponsor lists; and we look at ourselves and ask “Why not me? What is wrong with me?”

Here is a survival tip for your business and life in general

Stop Comparing Yourself to ANYONE. Compete only with yourself and your own personal best.

It’s easy to look at a former super model on the cover of the magazine and think how nice for her that she has bypassed all aging that goes along with being 50 plus years old. We look at a fast starter and think that he/she must know some special skill or have some secret; his/her friends must like him/her better.

Here’s the thing – there is most always a story behind the story; the one that you and I never see.

Models and actors have the benefit of airbrushing; and most fast starters have a success story from before, that we don’t know about and don’t take the time to research. Top income earners in Network Marketing pay their dues somewhere; ask any top income earner. And, everyone’s life circumstances are different.

Some people have a $500 monthly budget with which to run their business, and assuming they invest is wisely and take action on it, they will likely have faster results than the person spending $25. The person who makes their list of everyone they know; send out the friends and family letter; drops off a packet and some products to sample; hosts a BOSS or networks the business in some way consistently will have better and faster results than the person who gets out into cold market right away.

We all have a learning curve and a process to go through in business success.

Compare yourself today to the action steps you took yesterday. How do you feel about that? What can you improve upon?

To quote Eleanor Roosevelt – “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” And, to add to it – “Over and Over again until your results shoot you to the moon!”

Avoid the Management Trap in MLM

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

The Management Trap of MLM

.

groupWanna know a sure “buzz kill” in your MLM business?

Here it is – sponsor a few and then get into management mode.

Have you ever worried about growing a large team because you wonder if you can handle the management of that team? The responsibility that goes with that team?

Here is some news you will love – your job is not to manage anyone but yourself.

Your job is to simply get them started. Provide training, resources and support and then the rest of it is up to each distributor. Each person who joins your team is an independent business owner and is responsible for his or her own business.

After all, you cannot control the actions, intentions or activities
of another. We all have a full plate just controlling our own,
right?

If you plan on managing thousands of people, you will have a big
job and a big problem. You will not only burn out quickly, your
team will stagnate any time you take a break, go on vacation or
simply take a day off.

So, concentrate on sponsoring; training; provide details on team
resources and tools and periodic check in/coaching calls.

Do a good job sponsoring and getting them trained and the rest is
up to each individual. Place the responsibility of training on each
person who is sponsoring. Work with those who you personally enroll
and your leadership team one on one and the rest is done in group
training and by the sponsor.

Your goal is always to replace yourself very quickly. You are
rewarded for getting people started and headed in the right
direction. If each person takes this responsibility on it creates
amazing freedom and leverage for the masses.

Leaders Hold a Vision

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

Hold a Strong Vision For Your Team

BelieveAchieveZig Ziglar said – “People with hope take action. Encouragement is the fuel on which that hope runs. That encouragement is what everyone needs.”

Leaders hold a vision. First it is the leader’s own; and then it grows into one for their organization. In the early days of a new distributor’s business, your faith is often what he/she clings to first.

As a network marketer, that is part of your job description. You are the fuel and your job is fueling that hope for others.

Let’s face it – this can be an emotional business. And the emotional ups and downs can take their toll if your team is not held together through vision and faith.

As the leader, be the one to hold that vision for your team. This
includes your own vision; the company’s vision; the vision of the
industry and your distributor’s vision.

Often, people come in skeptical and are just looking for a glimmer
of evidence that “this just won’t work.”  Be clear from the start
on your belief that it does work; is working; and certainly can
work for those interested in seeing the job through.

It’s very important that you are clear and consistent in sharing
your solid faith in what you are doing and what will come to pass.
It’s no time to be wishy-washy.

Immediate, consistent follow through is a great way to impart this
belief right away. When you sponsor someone new, pick up the phone
and make that call. Don’t rely solely on email. Call them once
every week or ten days for the first month or two.  Create that
bond that passes on your vision; a vision that includes him/her as
an important part of your organization.

You are the first initial evidence they have that this business is
real and will work. Create a vision that is powerful enough to see
you and your team to the finish line.
