Become Your Own Best Promoter
Do you know how to create awareness through social media? Do you understand the difference between Advertising and Marketing?
Most people don’t know the difference and they don’t know how to use Social Media effectively, and there is no place that this stands out more than on Social Media.
How many times do you see people pitching and selling and just being flat out annoying on Facebook? How many times have you blocked someone doing this?
How many times has that been YOU? Yikes!
Social Media is a fabulous way to promote yourself, and there is an art to doing this without seeming spammy or like you are advertising.
How to Create Awareness Through Social Media
Your goal is to become the “Go To” person in your niche; in your area; and with your connections online, too.
One great way to do this is to begin to “be everywhere” at least for awhile.
When I relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, I set a goal to be a networking MACHINE for a 90 day sprint, and get my name out there.
My goals:
To make people “aware” of me
To become Unforgettable
To be a Generous Giver, and not be focused on the “Get”
To make friends and build relationships
I know when these things happen, business automatically follows.
Here are a few ways I did this, and how you can, too.
Making People Aware of Me:
I attended 3-4 events a week. I made connections online and then through Social Media. And, I stayed consistent attending events.
Becoming Unforgettable:
I used my 5 Star Marketing System to follow up.
I leveraged Social Media to create awareness and showcase others. Check out my two Facebook Lives for two examples –
Furbabies Live – I met Jonny at a Networking event and he was asking me questions about Facebook Live. So, I asked him if he wanted to go LIVE right then. We did, and within 3 days we had over 2000 views.
Why We Network Live – I promoted 3 other business owners by going LIVE.
This created a lot of new friend requests, comments and awareness.

I send Happy Birthday Cards, Random Gifts, bought coffee at one on ones, Invited top contacts to other events, and more.
You don’t need a huge budget to do this. Trust in the Law of Reciprocity and know that you will be rewarded.
Make Friends and Build Relationships:
As I mentioned, I have had a flurry of new friend requests; had others connect me to key people who are right for my product and opportunity, and have made some fabulous offline connections for hiking; happy hour; lunch; mani/pedis and more!
That’s how I have sponsored over 2000 people, and have clients and customers in over 40 countries.
It doesn’t matter WHAT business you have, you can do this, too. Even if you sell Real Estate, you can create a wide sphere of influence and become the most referred person in your area by out of region agents just by building relationships!
