The Simplicity of Sharing the Opportunity

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

When you are getting ready to share your opportunity with someone, remember a few simple concepts to stay empowered and moving forward.

First, remember, you are not asking for a favor, you are sharing a powerful opportunity; something that can be life changing if someone will step up and embrace it.

Also, detach from the outcome. You can only control your own actions; not that of another.  Talk to any top income earner in any company and he/she will tell you that some of the best business builders said no the first time around. Have a follow up system and keep in touch. Don’t bug or harass, just stay connected and keep your name out there.

And, know that practice makes perfect. You will improve your sign up ratio and your bottom line by staying in the game and practice, drill, rehearse.

Have a simple way to share your business. Don’t drag people to long, boring meetings or webinars. Get them exposed to the business through something quick and engaging that makes impact. You can spend more time on the second look but make the first one short, painless and intriguing enough to want more!

Don’t be locked into one way of sharing the business. Ask your prospect what the best way is to get information – webinar online; website; live conference call; opportunity meeting; DVD; printed material, etc.

ALWAYS be a professional and follow up. 80% of sales are made on the 5th to 12th exposure. How might your business grow if you follow this principle?

You Get What You Expect

By Jackie Ulmer 2 Comments

Are you achieving what you want in your business? Are you setting positive, exciting goals? Or are you setting low expectations, thinking that it might work for everyone else but you?

For years, my signature line has been EXPECT Success!

And, I recently did a “head check” on myself and my goals and didn’t really like what I saw. I realized I had set my goals way to low, given that I am focused on building big empire in my Send Out Fun Cards business!

I had come from a company where the start up was very low, $50, and I had grown a large list and ongoing prospects and it was nothing for me to easily sign up 8 to 12 people, and more each month.

Compare that to the $493 start up that the online card business has, and one might assume it would be much more difficult to sign people up, right, especially given the economy.

Not so! I am consistently sponsoring 8 to 10 each month, and these people are excited at the thought of starting this powerful business. When someone “gets” a business, $500 is a VERY low investment for what it can provide.

Compare that to contributing to a 401K right now, and one might wonder the better investment. For me, I know the return I have made over the past year with my online greeting card business has been a MUCH better return on my $500 investment.

So, my question for you is – what are you EXPECTING in your business? Not what are you HOPING for, but what are you EXPECTING?

Set those expectations HIGH and see where it takes you! Right to the top!

Do You Have Business Envy

By Jackie Ulmer Leave a Comment

This is a common occurrence in Network Marketing – you look at your own business and begin to compare it to the business of someone else. You are at one level, but you want to be at the level Joe is at. Joe is at a level above you, but he wants to be a Jane’s level. And so it goes.

Almost everyone wants their business to be moving at a pace faster than it is. Embrace where you are and be committed to remain consistent in your action steps. Focus on where you are headed and be grateful for where you are.

Nothing will slow your business down quicker then to stop and have a pity party that you are not at a certain level. What are the proven action steps that you know work in your business. Are you taking these steps consistently?

Are you making those initial contacts and following up? Are you using the tools of the card business to stay in touch with your prospects?

This is so critical. Remember the statistics – 80% of sales are made somewhere between the 5th and 12th contact. Are you following up at least 5 times?

This doesn’t mean 5 times this week; but rather consistently keeping in touch.

Ask any top income earner and you’ll hear this over and over – NO very often means – not now! Make sure you are there when – not now – shifts to – sign me up!
